Diabetes Prevention Program- Sanford


Classes will be held weekly on Wednesdays from 7:00 - 8:00 am at SMHC Sanford Campus. Due to COVID-19, we are unable to launch this class in person. However, upon registering for this class you will be first to know when we are able to launch our program at this location. The Diabetes Prevention Program thanks you for your patience; we encourage you to check out our virtual class offerings!

 The National Diabetes Prevention Program will help you: 

  • Learn how to eat better and be active
  • Develop skills to make healthier choices
  • Get the long-term support you need to stick with the changes

The National Diabetes Prevention Program meets for one year: once a week for 16 weeks, then bi-monthly or monthly for the rest of the year.  A trained instructor will provide guidance and encouragement throughout the program. Classes are one-hour, and will be held at the same time each week.Please note: This program is not designed for people who have already been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.
